Nanock to the North comments
This review of Robert Flaherty's documentary from 1922 ' Nanock to the North is an accurate one. It does rubbish the film however Flaherty deserves this criticism for contriving and creating characters that weren't who it is claimed they are. For example in the documentary the actor who plays " Nanock" is actually a man from the area who's name isn't Nanock. In the documentary he is shown using spears and knives only however in real life he uses a gun showing Flaherty's desperate attempt to bring something different to the audience, something the review picks up on. The rubbishing of this film is in the fault of the director Flaherty and not in the review itself.
Nanock to the North
This review of Nanock to the North is too soft for the director. I believe that the director for the film/ Documentary Nanock to the North was a lunatic who got away with murder by scamming people's money away from them. He tried to create ' a real documentary' however he simply used an actor as Nanock's wife. He also told Nanock to use a knive instead of a gun. This director gave the audience a false sense of another world as due to his carelessness his original footage showing the real events was lost. He felt rushed and decided to become a scumbag. It's a shame that the first documentary ever made was nothing but a farce made by a desperate man that allowed future 'documenters' to give bias to their own documentarys. Alain Silver has done little to try and detail the negative man that Robert Flaherty was. He only made brief mentions, and didn't dare speak the truth of the legacy Flaherty would leave behind. This is cowardly and is contrived. Robert Flaherty was a fraud!
